Fairy Lights, Thunderstorms & Cosy Van Life ✨⛈️
There is something very special about being tucked away in a motorhome when the weather outside turns wild.
One evening while I was staying at Proctor's Stead, the sky suddenly came alive with the most incredible thunder and lightning storm.
I was safely tucked up inside Nancy with Sasha, fairy lights twinkling, everything warm and cosy, while outside the thunder rolled across the Northumberland countryside.
And then came the real show.
The lightning was flashing directly over Dunstanburgh Castle in the distance. ⛈️🏰
It was absolutely spectacular.
There was something quite magical about sitting there watching nature put on this enormous performance, while Sasha and I were nestled inside our little home on wheels.
And once the storm settled into the background, there really wasn't anywhere I'd rather have been. Sasha curled up beside me, a cuppa, a good book and the fairy lights glowing around us while the world outside was still wild.
I've always loved reading, but somehow a good book feels even better when you're tucked up somewhere in the countryside with rain beating outside. No television needed. No plans. Nowhere else to be.
Just me, Sasha, a book and our cosy little space. 🐾📖❤️
These are the moments I love about van life.
It's not always about how many miles you've travelled or where you're going next. Sometimes it's about parking somewhere peaceful, closing the door on the world and realising that, for that evening, this tiny little space is home.
And I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else.
